Music Technology (Production)

(Equivalent to 1 A Level)

This course will give you the knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare for apprenticeships or higher education courses in digital music production and the wider music industry. The content has been developed in consultation with employers and professional bodies to ensure that it is appropriate for those interested in working in the sector. In addition, higher education representatives have been involved to ensure that it fully supports entry to the relevant range of specialist degrees. You will learn how to use music software and hardware to produce work for media and commercial contexts, through a practical DAW production exam; creative synthesis and sampling; remixing and reworking, and mixing and mastering techniques.

What skills will I develop?

You will develop a wide range of subject specific skills on this course, in areas such as synthesis, sampling, remixing, editing and production.

You will practise research, presentation and problem-solving skills.

Completing this course will also improve your creative, commercial and interpersonal skills

Entry Requirements

Four grades 4-9 (or equivalent)

Grade 4 or above in Music or previous Music Technology experience is desirable but not essential.
