🌟 Woking College Science Visit – Inspiring the Next Generation of Researchers! 🌟
Seven of our Year 13 students had an incredible opportunity to spend an afternoon at the Zayed Centre for Research into Rare Disease in Children (ZCR) — a world-class collaboration between UCL and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
The ZCR is at the cutting edge of medical science, bringing together scientists and clinicians to diagnose, treat and ultimately cure rare diseases in young people. Our students heard directly from researchers about their groundbreaking work before stepping into the labs themselves — where they saw millions of pounds worth of equipment used to sequence genomes.
It was an eye-opening and truly inspiring experience, showing just how far science can go in transforming lives. A huge thank you to the team at the Zayed Centre for opening their doors and sharing their work with the next generation of scientists!
🔬💡 Experiences like this not only expand knowledge but also ignite passion and ambition in our students, reminding them that the future of science and medicine is theirs to shape.
Thank you to Leysa Forrest @UCL for organising this for us.
