GREEN WEEK – 11th to 15th March 2024 This week is a Green week at Woking College. All week there will be activities, talks, and events to educate and better understand the environment and what it means to everyone the impact we make, good and bad.

It was a great pleasure for Woking College to sponsor the Woking FC Vs Kidderminster game on Tuesday 4th March, witnessing a superb comeback victory. Brett Freeman, Principal, was delighted to award player of the match to brilliant playmaker, Curtis Edwards.                

Woking College is proud to sponsor Woking Football Club for the Woking V Kidderminster match on Saturday 2nd March. Best of luck to the home team Woking. Rained off on Saturday and rescheduled for tonight Tuesday 05th March 2024                

Well done to Rhys Conlon, who has retained his place in the GB climbing team. Moving into the U20 age group he will also be training with the senior team in preparation for an assault on the 2028 Olympics. The season starts in April in Italy.            

An exciting week for many of our students out on Work Experience. Alayna, Andrew, Charlotte, Izabela, and Joseph are at MCS Construction’s head office this week. We wish them and all our students a fab week.          

The IT and Art Department visited UCA Farnham for a games development talk. This included a workshop on Unity, where they were taught the basics of coding creative objects in a game. Followed by a break and an overview of their courses and a tour.        

We have an ongoing programme where staff and outside guests come in on Tutoring Monday to deliver some thoughtful and informative Talks on all sorts of subjects. Thanks to Nikki for her talk about the “Importance of Sleep” and Rohan for his talk on “Knife Crime” today.            

We have got in contact with our Alumni to find out what they are doing now, titled, “Our Students Go Places” This time it is Ella Bleazar class of 2018.
