Level 2 Vocational – Equivalent to 2 GCSEs

If you have an interest in health, early years care, education and social care, then this course is perfect for you. Working with and helping a variety of people is an extremely rewarding career and as part of the course you will gain insight into numerous roles that you may want as a career

What skills will I develop?

  • You will develop your understanding of the various job roles within the health & social care sector.
  • You will develop your communication & other practical skills, enhancing them on a work experience placement.
  • You will learn more about the nutrition and procedures within health & social care.

What topics will I study?

OCR Level 2 Technical Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care

  • Unit 1: Principles of Working in Health, Social Care and Childcare (MCQ examination)
    • Please note there is only one opportunity to sit the Unit 1 exam – there will be no resit opportunities for this exam.
  • Unit 2: Health and Safety in Practice (Examination)
  • Unit 3: Working in a Person-Centred Way (Coursework)
  • Unit 4: Safeguarding (Coursework)

 

Where does the course lead?

Passing this course will enable you to look into progression into a Health and Social Care related career. If you have a 4 in GCSE Science, you will be eligible to move onto our Level 3 programme at the end of the year.
