This course is aimed at those students who wish to pursue a career in the Public Services such as the Armed Forces, Police, Prison Service or Fire Service. On this course you will learn how these various services are governed, as well as examining how they rely on effective teamwork and leadership. You will also be given to opportunity to take part in many of the different fitness tests undertaken by recruits of all of the Public Services. This is a practical course, which benefits from many different trips and visits to and from representatives of all the Public Services.
What skills will I develop?
You will develop practical skills and understanding of a broad range of team-building and leadership techniques relevant to the different uniformed public services.
Investigative skills will be established through the study of how the Government and its policies affect the working practises of the public services.
You will develop confidence through your use of a range of communication, presentation and written techniques employed in individual and group projects.

BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary in Public Services: (Year 13)

Where does the course lead?
Learners on this course will usually pursue a career in one of the many Uniformed Public Services; Police, Fire & Rescue, Military or Paramedic. This course will also allow the learner to achieve UCAS points which can then lead to studying courses such as Policing and Criminal Justice or Public Services at University
