Prospective Parents

As prospective parents, we want to give you as much information as possible to help you make the right choices for your young person in your care.

There are a number of good information sources that may help:

Website

This website will give you a comprehensive overview of the College, list all the courses and give you information about Open Evenings and events. You can also find information about travel, the College day and FAQs other parents may have asked.

Prospectus

Our annual prospectus is available from late June. You can request this via the website or by calling or emailing the College. The College accepts applications for the forthcoming academic year on the publication of our prospectus e.g. the 2022 prospectus will be for entry in September 2023.

Open Evenings

We think the best way to get a taste of the College is to visit our Open Evenings.

Summer Open Evening

Our Open Evening in June is aimed at year 10s. It’s a great opportunity to visit the campus, get advice and information about the different courses we offer, see the extensive resources and most importantly, talk to students about what they think of sixth form life at Woking College. There are dance, music and drama showcases as well as an opportunity to see our Summer art exhibition before it moves to the Lightbox Gallery.

Our Summer Open Evening 2024 will be held on Wednesday 12th June 2024 – 4.30pm - 8.00pm

Autumn Open Evening

Our next Autumn Open Evening 2023 will be held on Thursday 17 October 2024 – 4.30pm - 8.00pm

The Application Process

Once a student has submitted an online application we will be in touch by post to invite them to an interview. On successful completion of their interview they will be offered a place by Woking College which will need to be confirmed.

Welcome Day

The next step is that they will be invited to our Welcome Day which takes place at the end of June when students will have the opportunity to confirm their subject choices, meet fellow students and staff members.

Enrolment / Term Dates

Your young person in your care will receive an individual invitation to attend College enrolment which is held at the end of August/beginning of September. It is very important that they attend in order to confirm their courses for the next academic year. Other important dates that you might be interested in are highlighted on this website.

New Parents’ Evening

In September all new parents are invited to a new parents evening at the College where there will be a short presentation and you will have the opportunity to meet personal tutors. This is a well-attended event and always proves very useful as your introduction to College life now your young person in your care is with us.
