Personal Tutors
When students enrol at Woking College, they are assigned a specialist Personal Tutor. The Personal Tutor will ensure the student receives a comprehensive induction programme to provide a smooth transition from school to College life.
Personal Tutors are a cornerstone of student life and lead students through a programme of educational and personal development during their time at the College, entitled #WE18YOSK (What Every 18 Year Old Should Know).
Tutors set challenging targets to ensure all students meet their potential. Students meet their tutors weekly in groups and on a regular one to one basis to discuss targets and any issues arising from their time at the College.
Early in the first term Parents/Carers are invited to meet the personal tutors and are actively encouraged to contact the tutors should they have any concerns or questions.
After discussion with their students, tutors send home regular report.
Tutors are instrumental in steering students through a programme of personal development courses including a Financial Literacy qualification and courses in driving safety, health and nutrition and drug prevention.
Tutors are instrumental in assisting students in taking their next step, whether to Higher Education or Employment.
