Brett Freeman, Principal of Woking College initiated a new Art Award that sees talented Art students work displayed across the College.
This year the Annual Principal’s Award went to Annabel Hocking who is currently studying Art, Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Annabel who wants to go on to study Architecture took her inspiration for her winning artwork from a recent trip to New York.
Stranded in her hotel in the pouring rain, Annabel sketched and painted a very wet Times Square which she then translated into two stunning abstract canvases, entitled “New York, New York”, which are to be displayed in the Principal’s office.
Annabelle commented that her Art course was a fantastic compliment to her other subjects and that Art and travel was an essential part of her ambition to become a top architect.
