HOT OFF THE PRESS! INTRODUCING WOKING WORD!
We’re incredibly proud to share the first edition of Woking Word, our very own student newspaper! 🎉
As part of our enrichment programme, students have the fantastic opportunity to experience what it’s like to run a real newspaper, taking on roles in journalism, editing, photography, reporting and production.
Led by our brilliant Editors-in-Chief, Emma Smith-Gould and Theia Hall, a talented team of student journalists has been working hard to bring this first issue to life!
So, what’s inside the October edition?
- Behind the scenes of Chicago – An exclusive look at rehearsals, costumes, sets and the incredible work going into our upcoming College production.
- Sports Roundup – All the latest football action, match reports and standout performances from our College teams.
- Film Reviews – Our student critics share their thoughts on Resident Evil and Sense and Sensibility, alongside some fantastic Halloween movie recommendations.
- The History of Halloween – Discover the fascinating origins and traditions behind one of the year’s spookiest celebrations.
- Music & Entertainment – A deep dive into Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl: Encore.
- Student Creativity – Beautiful handmade jewellery inspired by autumn, plus an original poem, A Voiceless Echo.
A HUGE congratulations to our entire Woking Word team!
From our editors and journalists to our photographers and contributors, you’ve shown tremendous creativity, enthusiasm and teamwork in producing this fantastic first edition.
We’re incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved, and we can’t wait to see what you produce next!
