British Physics Olympiad

Before the holidays, five exceptionally talented physics students took part in the British Physics Olympiad, one of the most challenging science competitions in the country. Not only do the exam papers require a deep understanding of a wide range of physics concepts, but also phenomenal problem solving skills. We are delighted to announce that Matt Joll achieved a Silver award, Sam Belcher a Bronze I, Jack Barrow a Bronze II and Mary Addis and Charlie Pinder achieved Commendations. Around 2100 students took part nationally, with only 280 achieving the level of silver, so this really was an impressive performance from all that participated.
