Our MVD (Medical, Dentistry and Veterinary Science) and Excellence group had a fantastic day at the Royal College of Surgeons in Holborn, a big thank you to Georgia and Anouk our facilitators and the wonderful surgeons Mr Nicholas Bennett – Plastic surgery and Mr Boyd Goldie – Orthopaedic who gave up their time to help our students learn how to suture!
We learnt a range of surgical skills – from ‘gowning and gloving up’ to learning to suture and closing up after surgery…. lots of intricate and interesting skills, a chance to ask lots of questions to the surgeons and a bonus beautiful walk-in the sunshine!
