Physics Students Aim For The Stars In British Physics Olympiad

Five exceptionally talented Woking College Physics students excelled at what is known as the toughest science competition in the UK.

Over 1800 students competed nationwide to be among the best young physicists.

Woking College is proud to announce that five of its students received stellar awards which put them in the top 5% of those competing.

Sanjay Sharma achieved a remarkable Silver Award and wants to go on to study Physics at University. Sanjay who has been offered places at top UK universities commented “The Olympiad was a great way to challenge myself to see if I really could become a leading physicist, the competition was really tough but it has given me the confidence to apply to the top universities for Physics”

Olivia Jackson and Eve Churchill received Bronze Awards whilst Michael Harding and Allen Banolahala received Commendations.

Matthew Klein, Teacher of Physics praised the students for their abilities in problem solving and their fantastic knowledge of their subject.
